Sora what’s wrong?” Riku asked with worry in his voice.

“N-n-nothing.”

“If nothing’s wrong then why are you crying?”

Sora looked up at Riku, his face stained with tears. Riku felt his hearts twinge with sadness, seeing the usually happy and smiling face of his boy friend now clouded with sadness made him want to die.

“Sora really, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing.”

“Please don’t lie to me Sora, I care about you, so please,” Riku knelt down beside Sora, cupped his face in his hands, and looked into his eyes, “tell me.”

Sora drew in a shuttered breath and let it out with a sigh. “It’s just that, I’ve been thinking a lot about the darkness, like what if, what if it came back.”

“Hmm,” Riku began his reply, “I’ve been thinking a lot about that too. If the darkness ever took me over again what I’d do.”

“What do you mean?” Sora asked.

“I mean, if I could just take control for a minute I could destroy my-”

“NO!” Sora’s sudden outburst made Riku flinch.

“Don’t say things like that,” Sora screamed out, “don’t even think about that,” Sora began to cry again. Riku sighed and sat down next to Sora.

“Sshhh, It’ll be ok Sora,” all Sora did in response was cling to Riku’s shirt and sob harder. Riku began to rub Sora’s back soothingly.

“Sora,” Riku began, “you know I love you right?”

“Yeah.”

“And you love me too?”

“Of course I love Riku.”

“Well, if the darkness ever does return, and I’m taken over, I want you to do something for.”

“What Riku?”

“When we face each other I want you to promise me that you won’t hold back.”

“Riku, I’m not sure I can promise you that.”

“You have to, because if you hold back and, and you lose then the worlds are doomed, because you’re the only one who can defeat me.

I-I promise that I won’t hold back.”

“Good,” and with that said Riku embraced Sora in a protective and comfort.

Riku leaned back from the hug and stared at Sora.

“Sora.”

“Yeah?”

Riku leaned forward and captured Sora’s lips with his own, Sora closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around Riku’s neck bringing his head down to deepen the kiss. When they finally stopped so they could breath, Riku brought his head down and nuzzled Sora’s neck.

“Sora.”

“Yes Riku.”

“With all that I am, I love you.”

“And I love you with all my being.”

And with those final words they watched the sunset on their peaceful island home.
